2008 Beijing logo Paralympic Games

In total 8 men teams and 8 women teams were active in Beijing. In the women sv tournament LAT, LTH and JPN made their debut. For LAT and LTH it became their only Paralympic tournament. Host country China made their debut with a men team, together with BRA men team, while the women team of China were winning for the second time the gold medal. This time they beat USA in the final. For the third time the men’s final was played between IRI and BIH.

Fu Niu Lele 2008 Beijing Mascot Paralympic Games

Fu Niu Lele was the mascot of the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. Designed by Wu Guanying. Fu Niu Lele represents a harmonious co-existence between mankind and nature, it represents athletes with a disability striving to make progress, and it represents the Beijing Paralympics Games’ concept of “Transcendence, Equality and Integration.”
