2012 London logo Paralympic Games

The men sitting volleyball tournament was played with 10 teams and the women tournament with 8 teams. The decision of more men teams was made to get more teams from the zone Africa in competition. RWA and MAR made there debut because of this, together with host country GBR. Because of decision of more teams in the men competition, their were only 11 players aloud in the men & women teams, instead of 12 players. 

In the women competition BRA and GBR made their debut. For both GBR teams it would be their only participation on the Paralympic SV tournament. 

The finals in the men and women competition, where the same as the finals in 2008. IRI men team was winning against BIH and CHN women team was again winning the gold medal by beating USA.

2012-London Mandeville Mascot Paralympic Games

Mandeville is the official mascot for the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Created by Iris, a London-based creative agency. Mandeville is named after Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The three spikes on Mandeville’s helmet represent the Paralympic Agitos. He also represents friendship.
